Tekhnika Svyazi Open Joint Stock Company traces its history back to 1873, when nobleman Menzhinsky founded a wire-and-nail factory in the estate of Baran, Orsha county. For almost 150 years, the plant has been many times reorganized and changed its activities, consistently maintaining the high quality of its products and services.
The company received its modern name and core specialization in the 2000s. Today, it is a defense sector enterprise, which produces modern radio communications equipment, radioelectronic modules, manufactures parts according to customer drawings, non-standard equipment for gas, oil and metallurgical industries, provides services for metalworking and coating of parts. Modern technological and construction base, assembly, mechanical assembly and tool production, galvanic plating shop, availability of equipment for plastic casting and pressing equipment, the full production cycle – these are main characteristics of Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC.
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which became a serious challenge for the whole world, many Belarusian enterprises started to support domestic healthcare by creating modern products and manufacturing various medical devices necessary in the fight against infections. Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC has been no exception. The company has developed a new direction – the production of medical masks in order to provide population, medical personnel and patients in healthcare institutions with high-quality personal respiratory protection products.
In the shortest possible time, Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC organized a site for the production of personal respiratory protection equipment, successfully launched an automated line (manufactured in the People's Republic of China), introduced mass production of single-use disposable masks, and developed BY 300209010.180-2020 technical specifications.
As a result, the company began to produce single-use disposable masks (MMO series) of three types in accordance with GOST P 58396-2019 "Medical masks. Requirements and test methods":
Type I – for patients of medical institutions in increased epidemiological danger during epidemics and pandemics;
Type II – for medical personnel in general premises of medical institutions;
Type IIR – for medical personnel in operating rooms and healthcare facilities with a high viral load.
Bacteriological filtration effectiveness of type I medical masks exceeds 95 percent, of type II and IIR – 98 percent.
A mask consists of three layers. The first and the third layers are made of SpunBel nonwoven material, and the second, inner layer is made of LOW MELT filter material, which provides high filtration and at the same time high air conductivity for comfortable use of the product.
A disposable medical mask (MMO series) produced by Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC is designed for single use during one shift (no more than eight hours, depending on operating conditions). This is a significant competitive advantage over other manufacturers, since most masks presented on the market are designed for two-hour operation only. Another distinctive feature of a single-use disposable medical mask is a convenient shape that ensures a tight fit of the edges to the face.
The products have passed a full cycle of tests, certificate of registration of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus No. ИМ-7.110852 was received with a validity period till October 2026. Thus, the new products of Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC have got the go-ahead for production, sale and medical use on the territory of Belarus. About 3000 products were passed to healthcare institutions free of charge during the period of acute need of medical workers in medical masks.
In 2021, Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC expanded the production of medical masks – the company's specialists introduced the production of filtering half-masks (with and without an expiratory valve) (PFO series).
A PFO disposable filtering half-mask is a human respiratory system individual protection means, which is designed to protect against solid and liquid aerosols (dust, smoke and fog), including droplet infections. Half-masks can be used in industry (metal machining, paintwork, etc.), construction (stone cutting, paintwork, etc.), agriculture (spraying water-based fertilizers and pesticides, waste sorting, etc.), as well as by private households. A PFO disposable filtering half-mask can also be used in general medical premises to limit transmission of infectious agents from patients to staff.
The company produces PFO disposable filtering half-masks with an expiratory valve and without an expiratory valve of three protection classes – FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 – in accordance with GOST 12.4.294-2015.
A PFO disposable filtering half-mask complies with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union "On Safety of Personal Protective Equipment" (TR CU 019/2011), which is confirmed by certificate of conformity No. ЕАЭС RU C-BY.ПФ02.B.03377/21. till February 2026 was issued to Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC by the Belarusian Health Ministry.
A PFO disposable filtering half-mask, like a MMO single-use disposable medical mask, has several layers. The two outer layers are made of SpunBel material, and the inner part of the mask consists of Melt Blown filter material, which can be arranged in two, three or four layers, depending on the protection class.
Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC takes care of the high quality of its respiratory personal protective equipment, its resistance to the penetration of viral infections. To confirm the protective properties, samples of medical products were tested at Institute of Virology named after D.I.Ivanovsky, forming part of FSBI N.F.Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The medical mask MMO-II and the filtering half mask PFO-B-301 have been successfully tested against test viruses (poliovirus, adenovirus and coronavirus), which is confirmed by a scientific report on the results of a viricidal activity study of the product dated March 25, 2021.
Currently, Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC actively supplies respiratory personal protection products to Belmedtechnika Unitary Enterprise, branches of Medtechnika Unitary Enterprise, Pharmacia Republican Unitary Enterprise and various Belarusian healthcare institutions. The products are also sold through retail chains. In addition, many organizations of various industries purchase medical masks for their employees during the pandemic, which indicates the demand for the new products.

Tekhnika Svyazi OJSC is located in the Orsha District, one of the 11 small regions with developed industrial sector that are supposed to form the basis for rapid regional development, demonstrate the possible growth points and create conditions for further socio-economic development of other towns and regions of the country.
