Every year, from November 5 to 10, Shanghai hosts the largest exhibition event in China – China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is also one of the largest and most significant exhibition events in the world.

The importance of the exhibition for China is evidenced by the patronage of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

CIIE is supported by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the People's Government of Shanghai. The venue for the exhibition is one of the largest specialized complexes, the total area of which is about 1.5 million square meters.

The exhibition is divided into thematic sections, which cover almost all areas of production. They include the automotive industry, high-tech equipment and information technology, medical equipment and medicines, consumer goods, services, food and agricultural products.

The organizers of China International Import Expo aim to create a platform for international cooperation, encourage economic growth and the Chinese import market development, and strengthen economic ties between China and partners around the world.

The scale of the exhibition in recent years has certainly been affected by the coronavirus restrictions. A number of events have been transferred to a virtual format. However, in 2022, about 2.8 thousand companies from 127 countries and regions took part in CIIE, including from Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Serbia, the USA, France, South Korea, Japan, and others. The number of visitors exceeded 460 thousand people.

This year, more than 100 countries have already confirmed their participation.

Belarus has been participating in China International Import Expo since 2019. National expositions within the framework of the exhibition were held both with the personal participation of exhibitors and in a virtual format. The organizers are the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Exhibition Unitary Enterprise "Belinterexpo" of the BelCCI, the co-organizers are some ministries and organizations of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2023, the exhibition will resume in person format. It is planned that Belarus will take part with a large-scale exposition and the widest possible participation of enterprises from various fields. In particular, a country pavilion and collective expositions will be organized in commercial specialized pavilions "Consumer Goods", "Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products", "Trade in Services", "Food and Agricultural Products". The Belarusian exposition will be accompanied by a business and cultural program.

Belarus participates in this event to demonstrate export opportunities, promote further deepening of trade and economic cooperation with the People's Republic of China, attract investment and increase trade between the two countries.

China International Import Expo is of great importance for Belarusian companies, since it provides many advantages and opportunities.

China is one of the largest and most fast-growing markets in the world. Thanks to the exhibition, domestic enterprises will be able to present novelties and the best samples of their products to the Chinese and foreign businesses, establish business contacts with potential partners and buyers, including with Chinese state corporations.

Besides, the potential of the exhibition is not limited to the huge Chinese market: a significant number of participating countries open up opportunities to hold meetings with representatives of business circles from different parts of the world on one platform, study the proposals of the world market and gauge the company's competitiveness.

Additional benefits are provided by the fact that the National Exposition of the Republic of Belarus at the 6th China International Import Expo is included in the Plan of National Exhibitions in Foreign Countries in 2023, approved by the Government.

Collective participation in the Made in Belarus exposition will provide a comprehensive solution to many issues: political, ideological and economic. The organizers position and develop the design taking into account the promotion of Belarusian pavilions in the Chinese market, consider the practice and development trends of exhibition activities in China, provide priority placement of stands in commercial and national pavilions – in the places visited by official delegations of China and foreign countries.

In addition, participation in the exposition is effective in terms of attracting the target audience, since the organizers actively interact with Chinese government agencies, foreign delegations and business community.

The business and cultural program of the National Exposition will include the China-Belarus economic forum and B2B negotiations. Made in Belarus exhibitors will be able to take part in the forum, including with presentations of their companies and export opportunities.

Thus, participation in the China International Import Expo as part of the National Exposition of Belarus is an effective tool for promoting goods and services in China and establishing new business contacts. Belinterexpo is already forming a list of Belarusian exhibitors and invites enterprises to take the opportunity to become one of them.

See you at the 6th China International Import Expo!
