2nd Belarus-Italy Business Forum on Green Economy

Minsk hosted the second Belarus-Italy Business Forum on Green Economy. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Italian Republic in the Republic of Belarus jointly with Confindustria Belarus association and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The forum was attended by the Charge d'Affairs pro Tempore of the Italian Republic in the Republic of Belarus Paolo Tonini, the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, the President of  Confindustria Belarus Marco Tozzi, the First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Protection of the Republic of Belarus Iya Malkina, the Chairman of Italy-Belarus Chamber of Commerce Angelo Ilardi, the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Protection of Land and Sea of the Italian Republic, the World Bank, specialized Italian business associations, Belarusian-Italian joint ventures, 140 Belarusian and 46 Italian companies.

The forum participants considered the prospects for extending bilateral trade and economic cooperation in the field of green economy and in other areas with a focus on the opportunities of using Italian investments, as well as the possibilities for the Belarusian enterprises to adopt Italian advanced technologies in the fields of waste management, renewable sources of energy (solar and wind power plants), energy efficiency in civil and industrial construction, agriculture, smart cities. The Belarusian entrepreneurs were informed on how to get finance for new projects implementation from the Italian State Export Credit Agency (SACE), large private and international financial institutions.

Agreements on cooperation were signed by Confindustria Belarus and Gomel-Raton and Brest free economic zones, as well as a number of commercial contracts between the Belarusian and Italian companies.

The plenary part of the event was followed by negotiations between businessmen of Belarus and Italy.
