Belarus-Estonia business forum

The Belarus-Estonia business forum was organized by the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Estonia and the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in the Republic of Belarus.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Belarus Merike Kokaev, the Director General of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI Alexander Fedorchuk, the head of the Jõhvi representation of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce Margus Ilmyarv, the representatives of 49 Belarusian and 13 Estonian companies took part in the event.
Prospects for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation were considered during the business forum, as well as possible joint projects. The representatives of enterprises and organizations of the two countries held bilateral talks.
As a result of the event, agreements on cooperation between Belarusian and Estonian companies in the spheres of mining engineering, metallurgy, woodworking, light industry, transport and forwarding activities, the production of pharmaceuticals, food products, gas and construction equipment were reached.
Within the framework of the Belarus-Estonia business forum, the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI held a seminar for the Estonian delegation members on doing business in the Republic of Belarus. The Estonian business community representatives got informed on the peculiarities of the business climate in Belarus and the regulatory environment for business activities, with the advantages of doing business on the territory of free economic zones (on the example of the Minsk FEZ). A visit of the Estonian delegation to the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was organized, too.
