Belarusian-Canadian business forum

The Belarusian-Canadian business forum organized by the The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Canadian business association in Russia, was held in Minsk.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Kravchenko, Assistant to the Deputy Minister Stephanie Beck, representatives of the 50 Belarusian and 7 Canadian companies, among them telecommunications company BlackBerry.
Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich noted the great potential for cooperation between two countries and increasing trade. “Canada is industrially developed country, and Belarus has enormous opportunities. This is the first Belarusian-Canadian business forum in the history, and it speaks volumes. We are seen as a potential serious partner in the field of industry, new technologies.”
Director of the Canadian Business Association cooperation with Eurasia in Ottawa and Montreal Sebastian Dakin noted that Belarus and Canada should continue to work together in the IT-sphere. "This direction is common enough in Belarus, but in Canada this is not well known. It is better to advertise you capabilities more. Other promising areas for cooperation between two countries are agriculture and industry. We begin to think how to produce products in Belarus to further develop the markets of Europe and Eurasia. All high-quality Belarusian products have prospects for export to Canada. You just need to decide which ones directions are most promising. Activities such as today's business forum, contribute to enhancing cooperation,” - he stressed.
