BelCCI appoints representatives in Switzerland and Germany

The Presidium of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appointed new representatives of the BelCCI in the Federative Republic of Germany and the Swiss Confederation.

The BelCCI representative in Germany – Andreas Schmalfuss.

Dr Schmalfuss is the dean of the Industrial Engineering faculty of the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. He has organized three German-Belarusian business forums at the University in 2017-2019. At these forums, the presentations of doing business conditions in Belarus, the possibilities of the IT sector, higher and professional education establishments were delivered to the German business representatives. Andreas Schmalfuss promotes the establishment of contacts between Belarusian and German educational and scientific institutions; he has initiated the Master's Degree program "Industrial management – Innovation and Business Expansion" implemented by the Belarusian State University and the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.

The BelCCI representative in Switzerland – Borja Berkowitsch.

Mr Berkowitsch is the Head of Vision Promotion Sarl, he has established strong connections within the economic community of Switzerland and internationally. Borja Berkowitsch participates in the trade and economic activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Swiss Confederation on a regular basis, has taken part in organizing and financing such activities. He provides support to the Belarusian companies in promoting their goods to the Swiss market, facilitates the business networking between the companies of Belarus and Switzerland, assists in the organization of business visits.


BelCCI representatives are individuals that are not employed by the BelCCI and instructed to act in the interests of the BelCCI on a voluntary basis.

The main tasks of BelCCI representatives are as follows:

  • to support the creation of favorable conditions for the export of Belarusian goods and services within the country of residence;
  • to assist the Belarusian business entities (members of the BelCCI) in conducting foreign trade operations and the developing of new trade and economic cooperation models;
  • to promote the establishment and development of business contacts between the BelCCI and chambers of commerce and industry, government bodies, businesses and non-profit organizations and other partner organizations of the country of residence in the field of foreign trade, as well as to attract foreign investment into the economy of the Republic of Belarus;
  • to represent the interests of the BelCCI and member enterprises in the country of residence.
