International round table on using ATA Carnets within the EAEU

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an international round table on using ATA Carnets within the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. Partaking in the event were representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the chambers of commerce and industry of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Lithuania, the customs authorities of the EAEU states and Uzbekistan.

In his welcoming remarks, the Chairman of the BelCCI Vladimir Ulakhovich underlined the importance of the elimination of the barriers for ATA Carnets functioning within the EAEU, as it will help simplify the customs procedures and remove the impediments to the movement of goods within the Eurasian Economic Union territory.

The round table participants shared information and experience on the ATA Carnet system functioning in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and Russia, considered some problematic issues that are associated with the use of ATA Carnets, and suggested solutions to a number of them.
