Kazakhstan-Belarus business forum

Within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan-Belarus business forum was organized in Nur-Sultan by KAZAKH INVEST National Company and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.
Taking part in the forum were the First Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchyn, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, the Minister of Industry of Belarus Pavel Utyupin, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Khotko, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure of Kazakhstan Timur Toktabay, BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, the Chairman of Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Ayan Erenov, KAZAKH INVEST NC Board Chairman Baurzhan Sartbayev, more than 200 representatives of official and business circles.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchyn said that the Belarusian business community is interested in active cooperation with Kazakh entrepreneurs, in bilateral trade expansion and joint projects implementation.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar defined the promising areas of Belarus-Kazakhstan investment cooperation, presented the mechanisms to support investors in Kazakhstan. Besides, he outlined the possible fields for bilateral economic relations expansion.
The participants highlighted the mutual intention to strengthen cooperation in different spheres, discussed the priorities of further Belarus-Kazakhstan trade and economic cooperation, practical aspects of doing business.
The forum resulted in 14 bilateral agreements and contracts signed in mechanical engineering, agriculture, pharmaceutical production worth USD 75 mln.
As stated by the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, the business forum has provided background for long-term cooperation both in traditional spheres, such as mechanical engineering, food production, and in new ones. According to him, the countries have great potential, and it is expected that this year's turnover will reach USD 1 bln.
