Meeting of the BelCCI Committee on Exhibition-Fair and Congress Activities

Date: 17 March 2020

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the meeting of the BelCCI Committee on Exhibition-Fair and Congress Activities.

Participating in the meeting were the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, the Committee Chairman, the Chairman of the Board, Head of Corporate Programmes Department of IPM School Dmitry Dichkovsky, Director of Belinterexpo Exhibition Unitary Enterprise of the BelCCI Evgeniy Vvedensky, representatives of more than 60 Belarusian enterprises and organizations.

During the meeting, practical aspects of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated November 14, 2019 No. 412 "On Export Support" in terms of cost compensation for participation in international specialized exhibitions and fairs abroad, as well as issues of the organization of expositions and exhibitions of Belarusian enterprises in foreign countries in the global epidemiological environment were considered.

Vladimir Ulakhovich noted that participation in exhibitions and expositions is still one of the most effective marketing tools for export promotion. For example, the amount of contracts and agreements concluded by Belarusian exhibitors following the results of the exhibition events organized by the BelCCI in 2019 exceeded 217 million US dollars.

"Today, due to the adverse epidemiological situation in the world, more than 900 exhibition events have been canceled or postponed. At the same time, measures taken by states to combat viral infection should finally stabilize the global situation and resume international exhibitions," the BelCCI Chairman said. "In this regard, issues of state support for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in participating in exhibitions abroad remain relevant, and the BelCCI is ready to continue to provide advice on the practical application of Decree No. 412, as well as assistance in organizing the participation of Belarusian exporters in exhibition events in foreign states."
