The second meeting of the Inter-Agency Council for Exhibitions, Fairs and Congresses in the Republic of Belarus

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the second meeting of the Inter-Agency Council for Exhibitions, Fairs and Congresses in the Republic of Belarus. The meeting had a format of a videoconference.
Participating in the meeting were the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister of the Republic of Belarus, the Inter-Agency Council Chairman, Vladimir Koltovich, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Chairman of the Council, Vladimir Ulakhovich, other Council members, more than 30 representatives of Belarusian enterprises.
The meeting participants discussed the topical issues of the exhibition, fair and congress activities in the current epidemiological situation.
The Council Chairman Vladimir Koltovich noted that the Government of the Republic of Belarus has worked out a Complex of measures to ensure the economic stability in the framework of the world epidemiologic situation. This document includes specific mechanisms to support the enterprises operating in the fields most affected by the spread of coronavirus infection. The document is to be forwarded to the Head of State for consideration.
Vladimir Ulakhovich added that the abovementioned measures are particularly aimed at small and medium enterprises that do not have institutional subordination. The BelCCI is already engaged in the implementation of the Complex of measures by advising and assisting businesses on several issues of its competence.
The Council approved the composition of the commissions for exhibition, fair and congress activities, discussed some other issues related to the participation of Belarusian enterprises in exhibitions and fairs abroad.
The Inter-Agency Council for Exhibitions, Fairs and Congresses is a standing advisory agency that will coordinate efforts in arranging and promoting congresses and fairs. Organizational and information support for the Council activities is provided by the BelCCI.
The Council is authorized to take decisions, within its scope of authority, to improve the interaction between government agencies and other organizations in the domain of exhibitions, fairs and congresses. The Council can also submit proposals to the Council of Ministers regarding improvements to exhibition-related activities.
