The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich took part in the meeting of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with the delegation of Oman businessmen.
The Head of State underlined during the meeting that Belarus views Oman as a promising trade and investment partner in the Persian Gulf region. He also expressed the readiness of Belarus to provide assistance to the Oman businessmen in entering the large market of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus demonstrates serious results in mechanical engineering and is ready to both supply machinery to Oman and to establish joint ventures in its territory. The President also finds investment cooperation development promising.
In turn, the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Saeed Al Kiyumi said Oman is interested in the development of bilateral relations with Belarus.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman stays on visit to Belarus on September 17 – 21. The delegation consists of over 40 prominent businessmen. The areas of their activities and interest in Belarus include investments, oil and gas industry, banking, construction, mechanical engineering, industrial manufacturing, food production, insurance, financial consulting, transport services, IT development, retail trade, infrastructure development, real estate, tourism, etc.
On September 20, the first ever Belarus-Oman business forum will he organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event will be dedicated to the development of a roadmap for further interaction of the two countries' businessmen. The President of the Republic of Belarus assured that the event will give a new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
