The second meeting of the Belarusian-Uzbek Business Council

Business representatives from Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed current issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, prospects for expanding partnerships and implementing mutually beneficial projects during the second meeting of the Belarusian-Uzbek Business Council.

The event, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan as part of the first Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Forum, which is taking place these days in Minsk and the Minsk region, took place at the BelCCI. Representatives of more than 40 enterprises and organizations of the two countries took part in the meeting.

The second meeting of the Belarusian-Uzbek Business Council participants was opened by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhael Miatlikov and the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Zhamshed Urakov. In their speeches, they noted that relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan are of a strategic nature and are successfully developing in the spirit of friendship and partnership. Strong connections have also been established at the level of national and regional chambers of commerce and industry: business and exhibition events are held annually that contribute to the development of business ties. And the Belarusian-Uzbek Business Council, created under the auspices of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, is an effective platform for discussing problematic issues and barriers to expanding bilateral trade and economic interaction, and helps to increase the efficiency of business ties between Belarusian and Uzbek organizations.

Kamoliddin Khasanov, Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus, presented possible projects of trade and economic cooperation with the Uzbek side.

The exchange mechanisms for supporting bilateral trade transactions offered by the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, as well as the export opportunities of Belarusian and Uzbek enterprises, were also presented to the participants.

Following the addresses and presentations, B2B negotiations took place between businessmen of the two countries, who discussed current issues and proposals for developing partnerships, as well as some specific cooperation projects in various fields to be implemented.
