The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting of the BelCCI Council, the governing body that manages the Chamber's activities between congresses.
The main issue on the agenda of the meeting was the introduction of amendments to the Charter of the BelCCI in view of the entry into force of the Law of the Republic of Belarus No. 360-Z of April 1, 2024 "On Amending the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Chamber of Commerce and Industry" and the need to promptly bring the founding document of the Chamber in line with the norms of the Law.
In addition, the Council approved a new Strategic plan defining the main vectors of the organisation's development and activities until 2027. The document maintained the continuity of the strategies adopted since 2017. Its uniqueness lies in its priorities, which serve as guidelines for the benefits that BelCCI member enterprises receive, as well as in the practice-oriented areas of development of the Chamber's system and its services. Strategy-2027 defines four main priorities of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: "Improving the benefits of the BelCCI membership", "Developing tools for deepening and expanding foreign economic relations", "Involving BelCCI members in solving problematic issues of business and foreign economic activity and promoting their initiatives", "Improving the quality and updating the services provided".
The Council had before it reports on the results of the work of the BelCCI and the Chamber Presidium in 2023, as well as the results of financial and economic activities of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that in the conditions of increased sanctions pressure, disruption of logistics chains, the emergence of new barriers and other difficulties of the foreign economic situation, 2023 became both a year of development of traditional areas and search for new forms and methods of work for the Chamber. "Undoubtedly, our joint efforts were aimed at implementing the tasks set for us by business and the authorities. I can note that the plans we set out for 2023 have been fulfilled. A lot of work has been done, which is impossible without the support and cooperation of the Council members, the Presidium and all the enterprises – members of the BelCCI," Mikhael Miatlikov said.
During the meeting, the winners and diploma holders of the contest among mass media representatives "Development of export potential of Belarus" were awarded in the presence of the Council members – representatives of state bodies and heads of the leading Belarusian enterprises.
