Meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Russian Business Council

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation organized a regular meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Russian Business Council dedicated to supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Union State. The meeting was held on the platform of the CCI of Russia with online-format participation of the Belarusian business community representatives.

The session was moderated by Alexander Yastrib, Chairman of the Russian part of the Joint Business Council, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Moscow. The participants were welcomed by Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Nabeshko, Director General of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI.

During the meeting, heads and representatives of business support organisations, business associations, banks, technoparks of the two countries, and representatives of the business circles of Belarus and Russia discussed a wide range of issues related to the support of small and medium-sized enterprises within the Union State. It was noted that the topic of the meeting is very important, as small and medium-sized businesses are the driver of the country's economic development. Small and flexible organisations are able to quickly adapt to changes in the market situation and consumer needs, and are a source of new ideas, technologies and business models that improve production efficiency and economic competitiveness.

The prospects of SME development in Belarus and Russia, programmes and projects of the Union State aimed to support SMEs, measures of financial support for trade operations, peculiarities of obtaining certificates and licences to ensure entrepreneurial activity, patenting of inventions to produce innovative import-substituting products were considered. In addition, the participants were presented the opportunities of the Union State technoparks for doing business, as well as the advantages of franchising as an effective tool for the development of small and medium-sized companies.
