
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha with representatives of Belarusian enterprises and organizations.
Participating in the event were the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, heads and representatives of 20 Belarusian companies. More than 80 domestic business representatives, operating in the fields of mechanic engineering, the textile industry, food production, pharmaceuticals sector, banking services, followed the meeting online.
Vladimir Ulakhovich noted that India is a country with a capacious market, which is actively developing and is taking steps toward approaching the status of a world economy leader. Cooperation with Belarus meets the interests of India, Belarusian mechanical engineering, chemical industry products are in demand in the market of this country. The necessary conditions have been created for the development of cooperation between the business circles of Belarus and India: the exchange of business delegations is carried out, the Business Council functions. "We have created a pretty good infrastructure and support system for our cooperation. And the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary is another step forward. Today's event provides a unique opportunity to get the latest information about India, strengthen business ties, investment cooperation," the Chairman of the BelCCI said.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alok Ranjan Jha, in turn, stressed that India attaches great importance to cooperation with Belarus. The countries have potential and excellent prospects for cooperation in various fields. Mr. Jha expressed confidence that the businesses of Belarus and India are interested in a speedy return to the traditional format of dialogue and the pre-pandemic level of relations.
The participants of the meeting got informed about the promising areas of Belarus-India cooperation, new export niches for Belarusian products in the Indian market, the features of the business and investment climate, tourism potential, financial instruments to support foreign companies in India.
At the end of the plenary part of the event, representatives of Belarusian companies held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and had the opportunity to ask directly their questions about the development of relations with Indian partners.
