The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Belarus – Saudi Arabia business forum organized as part of the first visit of the delegation of Saudi Arabia to Belarus to coincide with the second session of the Joint Committee for Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The forum was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI Vladimir Ulakhovich, the head of the Saudi delegation, Chairman of the Board and CEO of ITEAC Dr. Amin Al Shanqiti, the representatives of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of the Republic of Belarus, businessmen of the two countries.
The forum considered prospects for establishing and expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation of Belarus and Saudi Arabia in the fields of construction, chemical production, heavy industry, energy engineering, telecommunications, IT, real estate, trade and investment, food production, pharmaceutical industry, tourism.
According to the BelCCI Deputy Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, the sides are discussing joint manufactures and greater presence of Belarusian products in the market of Saudi Arabia. Belarus may supply Saudi Arabia with a wide range of engineering products, including special-purpose, high-tech products in the field of tool engineering. In his turn, the head of the Saudi delegation, Chairman of the Board and CEO of ITEAC Dr. Amin Al Shanqiti expressed interest in cooperation with Belarusian companies in ICT, real estate, security, agriculture and engineering.
The forum included a business matchmaking session attended by over 60 Belarusian companies and 11 companies from Saudi Arabia.
