Belarus – India: A New Stage in Trade and Economic Cooperation

Fr om February 16 to 18, 2026, a delegation of leading Indian companies visited Minsk for a business trip. Organized by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the visit featured a packed agenda aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The highlight of the event was the B2B negotiations, which involved over 80 Belarusian enterprises from sectors such as education, pharmaceuticals, light industry, IT, and logistics. The parties discussed prospects for mutual supplies, the implementation of joint projects, as well as opportunities for localizing production and technology transfer.

A significant moment during the opening ceremony was the presentation of a certificate to Mr. Rajiv Podar (Chairman of Podar Enterprise) by the representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recognizing his longstanding efforts to foster trade and economic ties between Belarus and India.

The business program of the visit also included visits to several enterprises and organizations:

Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange: Indian partners were introduced to the tools of exchange trading and the mechanisms for concluding export-import contracts.

National Agency for Investments and Privatization: Guests were presented with the investment climate in Belarus and government support measures for implementing joint investment projects.

Innovation Hubs: The delegation visited the Minsk City Technopark and the Great Stone Industrial Park, wh ere they explored the conditions for establishing high-tech production facilities.

The Indian side showed particular interest in visiting resident companies of the technopark: Science Solutions, Labpharma, and Algimed Techno. Guests were introduced to developments in biotechnology and laboratory equipment. The Belarusian-produced DNA testing products received high praise, as well as the prospects for organizing joint research and supplying high-tech goods to the Indian market.

The visit confirmed a strong mutual interest in expanding cooperation and marked an important step in realizing new joint initiatives between the business communities of Belarus and India.
