Within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Ukraine, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine held a Belarus-Ukraine business forum.

The forum considered issues related to cooperation between businessmen of the two countries. Belarusian participants held talks with representatives of Ukrainian companies interested in developing cooperation in the areas such as mechanical engineering, industrial production, agriculture, petrochemistry, energy and electrical technology, construction and infrastructure development, transport, tourism, pharmaceutics.

“We consider the participation of our business delegation in the forum as a new serious step as well as the fulfillment of the instructions we get from the government and the head of state. We have a positive history that we can use as a basis. We have a consultative council, a unique instrument to support business relations. Today we are going to hold another meeting. It is important that we discuss not only common problems but also the issues of concrete companies,” the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

The Belarusian and Ukrainian business communities show a strong interest in cooperation, President of Ukraine's Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Chizhikov noted. “Some 90 Belarusian companies and over 380 Ukrainian ones have registered at our forum. The crowded hall demonstrates a great interest in cooperation,” he remarked.

The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ signed a contract to supply five haul trucks BelAZ-75131 to ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih and sell two haul trucks BelAZ-75473 to Novotroitskoye Quarry Group. The Belarusian agricultural machines manufacturer Gomselmash and Trading House MTZ-Belarus-Ukraine sealed a deal to export 67 knockdown kits of combine harvesters KZS-1218A1.
