Belarusian businessmen visited Serbia

Within the framework of the official visit to Serbia of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a visit of the Belarusian business delegation headed by Mikhail Myatlikov, the Chairman of BelCCI.

During the visit, the members of the delegation met the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Kragujevac Zoran Vulovi?, as well the representatives of Novi Sad and Voevodina region administration. The presentations of economic potential of Novi Sad and Brest free economic zone were held.

The delegation also visited the ceremony dedicated to the opening of Agrapanonka company assembling plant in Novi Sad. Agrapanonka is the leading machine-building enterprise in Serbia, actively cooperating with the Minsk Tractor Works. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Petr Prokopovich and the Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vu?evi?.

On June 13th, the Serbia – Belarus business forum was held in Belgrade, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Petr Prokopovich, the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Katerinich, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Belarus Valentin Chekanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Chushev, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Mikhailo Vesovi?, the representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus, Foreign Economic Activity Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SARIO), Belarusian and Serbian business communities.

The participants of the business forum were informed on the industrial potential of Belarus, the business environment of our country and export promotion mechanisms, as well as on the investment and business climate of Serbia.

On concluding the forum, a business matchmaking session was held. The representatives of Belarusian and Serbian enterprises discussed the prospects of further cooperation in the areas of machine-building, tire production, food products, glass processing, oil refining, and other. The negotiations resulted in a number of contracts and agreements.  

The Chairman of BelCCI Mikhail Myatlikov and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia ?eljko Serti? discussed the issues of inter-chamber cooperation and agreed on the arrangement of the Belarus – Serbia Business Council session within the framework of the Intergovernmental Committee for Trade and Economic Cooperation session at the end of the year. The representatives of regional chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries discussed the ways to expand cooperation.
