The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich took part in the 130th General Assembly of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES). The event had a format of a videoconference.
The General Assembly participants – Christoph Leitl, EUROCHAMBRES President, Ben Batters, CEO of EUROCHAMBRES, more than 80 heads and representatives of chambers of commerce and industry and business associations – approved the Association budget, statutory calendar for 2022, elected the Board of Directors, discussed the approaches and strategies of the chambers' of commerce and industry activities during the pandemic, the progress in the implementation of the EUROCHAMBRES Strategic Roadmap adopted in 2019, key events at the end of 2021 and in 2022, including the possibility of the EUROCHAMBRES members' participation in international projects.
The election of the President of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry for 2022–2023 was held. Luc Frieden, Chairman of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, was elected to this position by an absolute majority of votes. President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Dlouhy, Director General of the Irish Chamber of Commerce Ian Talbot, and President and Director-General of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Stefan Mühler have been elected EUROCHAMBRES Deputy Presidents.
