
On May 26, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, hosted the Eurasian Economic Forum entitled "Eurasian Economic Integration at a Time of Global Changes. New Opportunities for Investment Activity".
The forum program included a plenary session with the participation of the heads of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, as well as 21 thematic sessions on industrial cooperation, e-commerce, the development of transport and energy infrastructure, and other areas of cooperation within the EAEU, as well as an exhibition of the Union's best agro-industrial products.
As part of the business program of the forum, BelCCI Deputy Chairman Denis Meleshkin spoke at the panel session "Main areas of industrial cooperation: key trends, implementation tools, challenges and risks". In his speech, D.Meleshkin noted the need to introduce mechanisms for financing real-sector cooperative projects at the supranational level, and also made proposals from the Belarusian business to the agenda of the further work of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
In particular, the Belarusian side proposed to harmonize the legislation of the EAEU countries in the field of engineering products subsidizing, to study the issue of introducing a recycling fee on foreign special equipment in the EAEU, as well as to implement the principle of reliable partnerships to address the increasing pressure from Western countries against Belarus and Russia.
On the sidelines of the forum, a meeting of the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the EAEU member states was also held. During the meeting, the problematic issues of logistics and cross-border movement of goods, proposals to simplify the system of financial settlements, as well as the development of inter-chamber cooperation in the EAEU were discussed.
During his visit to Bishkek, the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI took part in the meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev with the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the EAEU member states. The meeting was attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Sharshekeyev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, Senior Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Roman Kasymov, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmatov.
During the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic relations between the Eurasian Economic Union members, as well as a number of projects in various sectors of the economy, including the development of transport communications, were considered.
An exposition of Belarusian food industry enterprises was presented at the exhibition of the EAEU best agro-industrial products.
The Belarusian pavilion was visited by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board.
