BelCCI takes stock of 2021: Gomel Region

The results of activities in 2021 and goals for the current year – this was the agenda of the team meeting of the Gomel Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was attended by Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI.

Opening the meeting, Marina Filonova, General Director of the Gomel Branch of the BelCCI, noted the effectiveness of the three main activity areas (certification, examination and evaluation and foreign trade activities) development. All of the indicators have been met and the dynamics of their growth has been maintained.

The Gomel Branch of the BelCCI has used the experience gained over the years to maintain international business contacts in 2021. Also, it has updated and formed new tools to promote the image of the Gomel Region and companies of the region among foreign partners. GOMEL PRO BUSINESS (bizgomel.by), an electronic platform of international contacts, has become an additional resource to facilitate trade and economic contacts.

Tatyana Sidorova, Deputy General Director for Expert Examination and Certification, noted that the flexible pricing policy of the Branch aimed at increasing competitiveness allowed to maintain positive growth dynamics of expert services. The work of experts has been organized in branches and a representative office in the Gomel Region, as well as directly at OJSC "BMW", OJSC "Mozyr Refinery", Belarusian Gas Processing Plant and the Administration of FEZ "Gomel-Raton".

Boris Gushchin, Deputy General Director for Foreign Economic Activity, noted that the Branch held 232 international events in 2021. The electronic resources have expanded the audience of B2B negotiations, which allowed not only to maintain but also to increase business contacts for more than 1160 representatives of business circles from 41 countries. For the first time, a hybrid format for international image events of the Gomel Region was introduced.

Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI, noted the effective financial and economic activities, as well as the professionalism of the staff of the Gomel Branch of the BelCCI in performing the assigned tasks. He told he was impressed by the active position of the management and the staff, and the Gomel Branch was the only Chamber unitary enterprise that managed to hold its main image international events in 2021.

Denis Meleshkin awarded the Branch employees with the Certificates of Gratitude and Honor of the Chairman of the BelCCI for their significant personal contribution to the Chamber's system development.
