The Belarusian meat processing sector has strengthened ties with the Chinese market: Results of the Business Visit to Shanghai

From 24 to 26 June 2025, a delegation of leading Belarusian meat processing enterprises undertook an intensive working visit to the People's Republic of China. Organised by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the visit manifested a strategic step towards developing bilateral cooperation and search for modern industrial solutions.

The central event of the programme was the attendance at two grand industry forums in Shanghai:

   · FoodPack China 2025 (the 24th international exhibition of equipment for processing and packaging food products);
   · ProPak China 2025 (the 30th international exhibition of processing and packaging technologies).

At these premier global platforms, Belarusian specialists delved deeply into the world of innovations for the food industry: from advanced solutions in packaging and labelling to high-tech equipment for processing, slicing, packaging, logistics, warehousing, and palletising. Technologies aimed at enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of meat delicacies garnered particular interest.

The visit was characterised by an exceptionally busy programme of B2B meetings. Belarusian representatives conducted over 100 negotiations with Chinese equipment manufacturers, technology companies, and potential partners. Key topics included:

   · Implementation of modern meat processing and packaging lines;
   · Optimisation of logistics chains;
   · Development of attractive packaging designs for export products;
   · Discussion of joint projects and exchange of catalogues.

During the visit, preliminary agreements were reached regarding the supply of industrial equipment with three major Chinese manufacturers, opening new opportunities for the modernisation of Belarusian enterprises.

   The visit, organised by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, demonstrated the high potential of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the agro-industrial complex. The established contacts and agreements create a solid foundation for further modernisation of the Belarusian meat processing industry, enhancing product quality and strengthening its position in the international market, primarily in China.
