Belarus-Serbia business meeting

A delegation of business circles of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Dragomir Karic, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Belgrade, representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Serbia, visited the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation included heads and representatives of 16 large companies interested in partnership with Belarusian business in the fields of agricultural engineering, metallurgy, furniture production, woodworking, food industry, construction and architecture, as well as in the implementation of investment projects in Belarus.

The Belarus-Serbia business meeting was held with the participation of Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aleksei Bogdanov, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus – Co-Chairman of the Belarusian-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Dmitry Berezovsky, First Deputy Director of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, and representatives of about 20 Belarusian companies.

The meeting focused on the current state and prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, issues related to the work of the Belarusian-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission, as well as measures to develop business contacts.

The participants of the meeting noted that since the beginning of 2024 there has been a positive trend in the Belarusian-Serbian trade and economic relations, a number of contracts between the enterprises of the two countries for the supply of products have been implemented. The parties are ready to continue the dialog, to discuss further practical steps to resume and strengthen cooperation in all areas, to expand the bilateral business agenda.

In particular, the BelCCI Chairman noted that business cooperation between the two countries is developing, projects in the field of construction are being implemented, the joint venture assembling Belarusian agricultural machinery is operating in Serbia, and there are plans to expand the range of manufactured goods. In order to intensify investment and trade and economic cooperation, business events and visits are organized, Belarusian companies actively participate in exhibition events in Serbia.

The solemn moment of the Belarus-Serbia business meeting was the awarding the representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dragomir Karic with the badge of honor of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry "For Cooperation". The Chairman of the BelCCI thanked Dragomir Karic for his assistance in organizing visits of business delegations, establishing contacts between Belarusian and Serbian enterprises and organizations.
