From August 13 to 16, 2025, the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) organized a business visit of the delegation of the Belarusian companies to the People's Republic of China. The aim of the trip was to develop bilateral cooperation, expand international ties, and exchange experience in key sectors of industry and the economy. The delegation visited Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The packed programme of the visit included a number of strategic meetings. The Belarusian representatives held negotiations with the management of the Nansha District Economic and Technological Development Zone (Guangzhou), the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Invest Hong Kong, as well as with a number of leading companies in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Special attention was paid to familiarization with advanced technological facilities. The delegation visited the fully automated Phase IV Nansha Port terminal in Guangzhou – the first fully automated terminal in China and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, created using advanced Chinese technology.
During the meetings in Guangzhou, the parties actively discussed the potential of the Nansha District for cooperation with Belarusian businesses, noting its strategic location in the world-class "golden triangle" between Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
A significant event was the meeting at the "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Center for Chinese Enterprises, wh ere the Belarusian delegation was introduced to innovative government services, including support for Outward Direct Investment (ODI) projects, as well as legal, financial, and tax advisory services.
A key platform for dialogue in Hong Kong was the Invest Hong Kong Agency. During a roundtable discussion, participants discussed the unique advantages of Hong Kong as a global financial and business hub. The Belarusian representatives received detailed information about market entry opportunities, foreign business support tools, and mechanisms for checking the reliability of potential Chinese and Hong Kong partners.
The significant potential for Belarusian food exports was separately highlighted. According to Invest Hong Kong, with a local population of 7.5 million and more than 86 million potential consumers from the entire Greater Bay Area, the Hong Kong food and beverage market is 95% dependent on imports, which opens up broad prospects for Belarusian producers and suppliers of food products.
