
A business meeting with a business delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is taking place in Minsk.
The event has been organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in order to expand bilateral business ties, establish and deepen contacts between Belarusian and Uzbek enterprises and organizations.
A large delegation from Uzbekistan arrived in Minsk to participate in the business meeting, featuring representatives of more than 100 organizations, industry departments and enterprises working in such areas as woodworking and furniture production, light industry, chemical industry, food industry, agriculture, construction and engineering, wholesale and retail trade, and others. From the Belarusian side, more than 170 representatives of enterprises in various fields have shown interest in the event.
The business meeting was opened by the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Zhamshed Urakov, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov.
In their speeches, they noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing, exports and imports are growing virtually simultaneously.
"In 2022, we exceeded the total trade turnover level of $500 million. At the same time, more than 600 million are planned by the end of 2023. I think our meetings will be productive and will allow us to further increase trade turnover. The visit will include not only B2B negotiations, but also visits to enterprises, where Uzbek colleagues will have the opportunity to get acquainted with our products", the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized.
Representatives of the Bellegprom and Bellesbumprom concerns, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange made presentations of the potential of Belarusian organizations in the fields of light industry, woodworking, and the possibility of using the exchange mechanism by enterprises of the two countries in mutual trade.
At the end of the plenary part, business representatives from the two countries continued to work in the format of B2B negotiations to establish direct contacts and discuss specific projects for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
