Business visit to the Kaliningrad region, Russian Federation

During the period from June 17 to 20, 2024, a delegation of heads and specialists of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus visited Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation with the aim of developing Russian-Belarusian relations in the field of agro-industrial complex in terms of studying and exchanging experience with Kaliningrad region in the field of dairy cattle breeding.

The delegation included heads and specialists of 10 agricultural production co-operatives of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of Committee for Agriculture and Food of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, and Head of Department for Agriculture and Food of Shklov District Executive Committee.

The study and exchange of experience took place on the basis of the selection and genetic center “Intergen Rus” (hereinafter referred to as the Center). Over two days in Russian region, the delegation visited the main facilities of the Center: an insemination station and a laboratory for sexing bull semen, a livestock complex for 5,500 heads for raising young animals and heifers for sale, a dairy farm for 3,900 heads with a carousel for 110 heads, a Forester's house with a training center and methodological class. During the visits, we held negotiations with the director of the Center, the chief manager for dairy cattle breeding of the Center, livestock specialists and veterinarians, farm managers and cattlemen.

On June 20, a working meeting on the development of dairy cattle breeding in the region and an exchange of views took place at Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of the head of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Kaliningrad and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Kaliningrad Region.
