
The Days of the Grodno Region are being hosted by the Belarusian pavilion at Moscow's largest multifunctional exhibition and congress complex, VDNKh, since the 1st of March.
The grand opening of the Days of the Grodno Region took place today, on the 5th March. On the honorary guests list of the event were Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, Dmitry Krutoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, heads of a number of Russian partner regions, outstanding natives of the Grodno region.
Presentations of the potential of the Grodno region, its historical and cultural heritage and creative traditions were demonstrated to the guests of the ceremony and the pavilion. In a solemn atmosphere, several agreements were signed by the Grodno region and its enterprises with Russian regions and partners: on the establishment of sister-city relations, on interregional cooperation in the field of sports and tourism, and the implementation of joint projects.
Until March 25, visitors of the pavilion can familiarize themselves with the cultural, tourist, economic, and investment potential of the western region of Belarus.
The exposition features items of intangible cultural heritage that are included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition "Cinematic Grodno" reveals interesting facts and exhibits from the world of cinematography.
The exhibition "Festival Grodno" is a prototype of the Republican festival of national cultures, and showcases national art treasures.
Visitors to the exhibition "Crystal Grodno" can appreciate an exclusive collection of crystal works from the Neman Glass Factory. Besides, presented are the tourist and infrastructural opportunities of the Augustow Canal – a unique hydraulic structure of the first half of the 19th century. This transboundary water artery connects other waterways running through Central and Eastern Europe.
When visiting the Belarusian pavilion during the Days of the Grodno Region, each visitor will feel the vibes of the western region of Belarus, explore the most interesting places of Grodno, have the opportunity to learn about health resorts of the region, take photos with Zevana, the goddess of hunting, see the photo exhibition "Grodno land from an aerial view".
The program of the Days includes various presentations, product tastings, performances by folklore groups and ensembles, craft workshops, and other events.
