Extended-format session of national business councils within the framework of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

An extended-format session of national business councils of Belarus and Russia was held within the framework of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in St. Petersburg. The session was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Participating in the session were Vladimir Ulakhovich, the BelCCI Chairman, Sergei Katyrin, the President of the CCI of Russia, Andrey Kutepov, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Matters, Vladimir Pantyukhov, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Economy, Budget and Finance, Aleksandr Moshensky, the Chairman of the Belarusian-Russian Council, 34 representatives of large Belarusian businesses and more than 80 representatives of Russian enterprises and organizations.

During the session, the topical issues of Belarus-Russia business interaction were discussed. In particular, the sides considered the measures that may be taken to ensure equitable access of Belarusian and Russian entities to the markets of both countries, the participation in public procurement process and tenders, the matters of customs, technical and legal regulation that influence the expansion of business and cooperation ties between the enterprises and organizations of Belarus and Russia, and the financial matters in relation to mutual trade and export to third countries.

A number of bilateral documents were signed worth about 120 million dollars, as well as the trilateral agreement between the state development corporation "VEB RF", BELAZ OJSC and Bank BelVEB OJSC, which defines the principles of cooperation and financing of the projects on deliveries of jointly-manufactured Belarusian-Russian products within export contracts totaling 50 mln dollars. The Vitebsk Branch of the BelCCI signed cooperation agreements with the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kursk CCI.
