The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a joint meeting of two committees of the BelCCI – the Committee for Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurial Activities and the Committee for Export Development and Foreign Economic Integration. The meeting was dedicated to doing business within the Eurasian Economic Union, new approaches and possibilities for enterprises.
Participating in the event were the BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ukalhovich, the Chairman of the BelCCI Committee for Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurial Activities, Director General of Dorelectromash LLC Yuri Tumakha, the Chairman of the BelCCI Committee for Export Development and Foreign Economic Integration, the Chair of the State Economic Policy Department of the State Service Institute of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus Vladislav Shchepov, representatives of Eurasian Economic Commission, Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, Bellegprom Concern. Heads and experts of more than 40 enterprises and organizations joined the meeting via videoconference.
During the meeting, the participants addressed the issues related to the implementation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council Decision dated November 23, 2020 No. 105 "On the approval of the Regulations for determining the country of origin of specific goods for the needs of the state (municipal) procurement procedures", as well as the prospects for the introduction within the EAEU of the new mechanisms of concessionary support for joint cooperation projects with resources from the Eurasian Development Bank.
The BelCCI Committee for Export Development and Foreign Economic Integration is an expert and consulting body aimed to discuss and develop business proposals on Belarusian export enhancement and diversification, improvement support mechanisms and tools, as well as the proposals on removing the obstacles faced by domestic enterprises during foreign economic activity, including within the Eurasian Economic Union.
The BelCCI Committee for Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurial activity is a platform to discuss the entrepreneurial activity aspects the business community members are interested in, to develop, together with the government bodies, international and foreign organizations, supranational bodies, the integrated position on the problematic issues of industrial policy, to form the proposals to improve the business environment and to bring them to the attention of the government bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
