A round table discussion was held as a part of Volgograd Region’s medical institutions delegation’s program of their business visit to Minsk. The participants discussed opportunities and prospects of co-operation between the Republic of Belarus and Volgograd Region (RF) in the sphere of medical tourism. The event was organised by the Minsk department of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Union ‘Volgograd Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry’.
In recent years, medical tourism has been actively developing in Belarus, and the level and quality of services provided has already been highly appreciated abroad. The Republic of Belarus and Volgograd Region have significant potential for the implementation of joint projects in this area.
Maxim Svirdov, Vice President of the Union “Volgograd Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry”, welcomed the participants saying, ‘Together to move forward quickly, but not to catch up with each other. This is the motto for our co-operation with the Republic of Belarus’.
The round table was attended by Victoria Troneva (Deputy Chairman of the Volgograd Region Health Committee), Igor Shamal (Head of the Main Health Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee), as well as heads of leading medical institutions of Volgograd Region, Minsk and Minsk Oblast.
The round table became a platform for discussing opportunities and prospects for co-operation in the sphere of medical tourism between the regions. Successful implementation of the proposed initiatives can improve the level of medical services and contribute to the development of tourism in general.
