The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry united healthcare leaders from Belarus and Russia for dialogue and exchange of experience

The Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) recently hosted healthcare leaders from Belarus and Russia for a constructive dialogue and experience-sharing session.

On June 17-18, the Belarusian capital welcomed a significant delegation of Russian healthcare leaders from various regions of the Russian Federation, thanks to the efforts of the Minsk Branch of BelCCI. This visit provided an important platform for strengthening professional ties and addressing key issues in healthcare development.

The program's highlight was a roundtable discussion with a welcoming speech by:

●      Sergei Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk Branch of BelCCI. He emphasized the importance of these meetings in deepening cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the vital healthcare sector and highlighted BelCCI's role as a bridge between the business communities of both countries.

During the event, representatives from the Belarusian side offered a comprehensive overview of the nation's healthcare system:

  1. Alexei Shcherbinsky, Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Management, and Health Economics, discussed key aspects and strategic directions for the development of healthcare in Belarus.
  2. Igor Shamal, Head of the Main Healthcare Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, detailed the regional specifics and achievements of the healthcare system in the Minsk region.
  3. Dmitry Tikhonov, Deputy Chairman of the Healthcare Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, presented the organizational structure and priorities of the capital’s healthcare system.

 The visit included a practical component, allowing Russian delegates to observe the operations of some of Minsk’s leading medical institutions. The delegation toured:

●      Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital

●      10th City Clinical Hospital of Minsk

●      Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery and Transplantology

 

During these tours and working meetings, the Russian colleagues closely examined several aspects, including:

●      The organizational structure and specialization of the institutions

●      Effective management systems and personnel policies

●      Compensation models and incentive systems for medical staff

●      Internal quality control practices in healthcare

●      The implementation of modern diagnostic and treatment methods

●      Prospects and experiences in medical tourism

 

The visit was conducted at a high level, reaffirming the mutual interest of both sides in developing beneficial cooperation. The exchange of best practices, discussions of common challenges, and exploration of new opportunities in medicine laid a solid foundation for future joint projects and initiatives.
