Opening of the office of the BelCCI representative in Sverdlovsk region

The official opening ceremony of the office of the representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Sverdlovsk region took place on December 7 in Yekaterinburg. The BelCCI representative is Ivan Bulavin.

The office opening was attended by Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Lyudmila Berg, Head of the Yekaterinburg Division of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation Sergey Chichuk, Vice President of the Union "Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry" Mikhail Kozlov, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business and Belarusian diaspora. Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the participants of the ceremony via video.

As the head of the Belarusian Embassy Division in Yekaterinburg Sergey Chichuk noted, the office of the BelCCI representative is supposed to coordinate activities to develop social, trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural ties between Belarus and the Sverdlovsk region, promote Belarusian goods, strengthen ties between commercial and industrial chambers of the Ural region and Belarus. If this initiative turns out to be successful, it is planned to cover neighboring Russian regions in the future.

"Opening an office is not a random event. This is a logical result of many years of cooperation," –Denis Meleshkin said. "Despite its geographical remoteness, the Sverdlovsk region has traditionally been a reliable trade partner of Belarus." 

The BelCCI Deputy Chairman emphasized the effectiveness of the annual participation of Belarusian companies in the INNOPROM industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg, as well as the significance of the fact that in 2023 Belarus will have a status of a partner country of the exhibition. "I am sure that this will serve as an additional incentive for expanding the Belarusian-Russian industrial and technological cooperation," Denis Meleshkin said.
