Participation of Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI,  in the meeting of the SCO Business Council Board

Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part online in a meeting of the Board of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States (SCO). The meeting was held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Davron Vakhabov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation of the Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Erik Ashimov.

During the meeting, the heads of the chambers of commerce and industry and business organizations of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan noted the growing role and effectiveness of the SCO platform, the need to consolidate efforts and strengthen cooperation between the member states’ businesses in all fields, in particular in transport and logistics, digitalization and cybersecurity, food and industry, financial and banking sectors. Special attention is paid to the mutual participation of the SCO member states’ business communities in international congress and exhibition events.

Addressing the participants, Denis Meleshkin noted that the BelCCI attaches great importance to further development and strengthening of inter-regional ties and trade and economic relations of the business community of Belarus and SCO member states. Belarusian companies are open to cooperation in all fields and are ready to offer their partners their transit, industrial and scientific potential.

Besides, the BelCCI Deputy Chairman informed that by the end of this year, the Chamber plans to organize expositions of Belarusian manufacturers in Tajikistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Apart from that, despite the quarantine restrictions, Belarus will present a wide range of its companies' products at the 5th China International Import Expo to be held in early November in Shanghai.     


The meeting of the SCO Business Council Board was held on the eve of the start of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Council in Samarkand, where the official procedure for Belarus’ admission to the organization will be initiated.
