Uzbekistan-Belarus business forum

Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Belarus business forum, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan as part of an official visit to Tashkent of the Government delegation headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.

The business forum was attended by the BelCCI Chairman Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Azamov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Nazaruk, representatives of more than 65 Belarusian and more than 150 Uzbek enterprises and organizations.

Welcoming the participants, the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov noted that the business forum is an important platform for communication between business circles, because it provides an opportunity to exchange experience and shows the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, solving the strategic tasks of partnership. He also stressed that the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry attaches great importance to the development of contacts between the business circles of the two countries; congress events, exhibitions and expositions are held regularly, enabling the establishment of contacts and opening up new horizons for businesses.

Given the significant interest of the Belarusian business and society in Uzbek goods, Mikhael Miatlikov invited representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the business circles of this country to organize a country exposition of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Belarus.

During the forum, promising areas for the development of Belarusian-Uzbek trade and economic cooperation were considered, presentations were made of the opportunities provided to foreign companies within the framework of preferential regimes in Belarus, as well as the benefits of using modern digital payment systems developed in Belarus.

The heads of Belarusian and Uzbek enterprises and organizations signed eight bilateral documents on cooperation and product supplies.

Following the plenary part of the forum, business representatives of Belarus and Uzbekistan continued their work in the B2B format, discussed specific projects of mutually beneficial partnership.

As part of the visit to Tashkent, the Belarusian business delegation members visited INNOPROM. Central Asia international exhibition, took part in the business events of the exhibition. More than 30 bilateral documents are planned to be signed during the visit.
