Grodno region delegation visits Dubai

On March 27–31, the Grodno region delegation visited Dubai (United Arab Emirates). The visit was organized by Grodno Regional Executive Committee together with the Grodno Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation included executive officials and heads of enterprises and organizations of the region (Grodno Branch of the BelCCI, Administration of the FEZ "Grodnoinvest", OJSC "Molochny Mir", OJSC "Grodno Meat Processing Plant", OJSC "Slonim Meat Processing Plant", LLC "Primemilk", Branch "Plant "Khimvolokno" of OJSC "Grodno Azot", OJSC "Vilaris", PUE "Studia otdykha", LLC "Stroibyt-ZOV", Institution "Museum "Castle Complex Mir").

Within the framework of the visit, the Days of Grodno region were held at the World Exhibition "EXPO-2020", during which presentations of the economic, investment and tourism potential of the region, as well as the export opportunities of Belarusian enterprises were presented to foreign partners.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Andrei Luchenok, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai Evgeny Lazarev and foreign companies' representatives took part in the events of the Days of Grodno region.

Following the presentations, bilateral negotiations between the Grodno region delegation members and foreign partners were held. The negotiations resulted in a number of documents on cooperation, including:

a memorandum of intent for further cooperation in investment activities between Grodno Regional Executive Committee and the company "Agromilk Holding Ltd." (UAE);

a memorandum on the development of cooperation in the field of tourism between the Grodno region and the city of Dubai (Grodno Regional Executive Committee and "Al Khalidiah Tourism LLC", UAE);

a memorandum of cooperation between SI "Administration of FEZ "Grodnoinvest" and the business platform of the countries of Eurasia and the Persian Gulf "EURASIA GULF BUSINESS NETWORK" (involves cooperation in the development and deepening of various forms of foreign economic activity of FEZ residents with Arab companies, exchange of information on promising projects and areas of trade, holding joint events and presentations);

a memorandum of intent between SI "Administration of FEZ "Grodnoinvest" and the company "BRIKOIL TRANS-F.Z.E." (resident of free zone "Ajman", UAE), the purpose of which is to develop an investment project for the development of a transport and logistics terminal in Grodno region (the potential investment for the project is estimated at 100 million US dollars);

a memorandums of understanding between OJSC "Slonim Meat Processing Plant", LLC "Primemilk", OJSC "Molochny Mir" and "Bright Act Middle East" (UAE);

memorandums of cooperation for the supply of polyamide products between Branch "Plant “Khimvolokno" of OJSC "Grodno Azot" and companies from Georgia and Pakistan;

a contract for the supply of meat and meat products between OJSC "Grodno Meat Processing Plant" and "Transglobal Integrity Ltd." (UAE).

Besides, a tasting of Belarusian products (a wide range of sausages and meat products, cheeses) was held at the site of Belarusian pavilion.

During the visit, the Grodno region delegation also visited the national pavilions of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia at EXPO-2020, as well as the Dubai Industrial City Park and the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.
