
The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhael Miatlikov took part in a meeting of the Working Group between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation.
The Russian delegation was led by the First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Alexei Shmykov, the Belarusian side was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Industry Alexander Ogorodnikov. The meeting participants addressed the main directions and prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and the Russian region, presented successful projects of cooperation of Belarusian industrial flagships and Sverdlovsk companies.
Belarus' First Deputy Minister of Industry Alexander Ogorodnikov stressed that relations with the Sverdlovsk region have always been warm, they were not violated by any external factors. "Our trade turnover is complementary. Last year, there was an almost 1.5-fold increase, which highlights the good cooperation projects that we implemented last year, as well as the prospect for 2023," he said.
The parties are actively cooperating in the field of mechanical engineering. Traditionally, Belarus supplies passenger transport, municipal equipment, agricultural machinery to the Sverdlovsk region. "On the Sverdlovsk region side, there is also a stable range of goods. These include everything that concerns the products of metallurgical plants located on the territory of the Russian region, and everything that is supplied to our enterprises within the framework of cooperation projects," Alexander Ogorodnikov said.
The BelCCI Chairman Mikhael Miatlikov spoke about the preparation of a large-scale exposition of the Republic of Belarus at the INNOPROM 2023 exhibition in Yekaterinburg, as well as about business, cultural and presentation events within the framework of our country's participation in this international industrial forum as a partner country.
"About 200 companies have already applied for the participation in the Belarusian exposition. This is an exhibition where not only Belarusian engineering, machine tool building, petrochemistry, light industry will be presented. An business program is expected as well. Within the framework of this event, a Belarusian-Russian forum will be held. Also in Yekaterinburg there will be an extensive cultural program – a fair-festival of Belarusian products, where residents and guests of the Russian city will be able to get acquainted with light industry products, souvenirs, etc.," Mikhael Miatlikov said.
As it was in previous years, the BelCCI expects a large number of guests. "These are practically all regions of Russia and about 50 delegations of business circles from various countries of the world," the Chairman of the BelCCI noted.
After the meeting of the Working Group, the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchyk with the delegation of the Sverdlovsk region took place. The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the meeting.
