
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a Belarus-Kaluga business, where topical issues and promising areas for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
Speaking at the plenary part of the event were the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov, Kaluga Region Governor Vladislav Shapsha, Minister of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus Ruslan Parkhamovich, President of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kaluga Region" Violetta Komissarova.
Chairman of the BelCCI noted that the positive dynamics of cooperation between Belarus and Kaluga region: the trade turnover is already $700 million, and the task is to increase it up to $1 billion. "We cooperate not only in services, but also supply a wide range of goods to each other. There are many stores selling Belarusian products in Kaluga region, a number of our companies have their own trading houses, and cooperation is already developing in a number of areas. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a big business meeting, and I think that the talks that will take place will contribute to signing new agreements and contracts to further increase our commodity turnover," Mikhael Miatlikov said.
President of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kaluga Region" Violetta Komissarova emphasized that a large and representative delegation of the Russian region business circles had come to Minsk for a meeting with the Belarusian business. Each company had formulated its own proposal to the Belarusian market – technologies, goods, procurement of products, on the basis of which the Belarusian side invited those companies that are interested in concrete results, partnership. "Judging by the fact that a much larger number of companies have signed up for the negotiations than there are on the delegation from Kaluga, we can say that the Belarusian side is interested in cooperation, and therefore the negotiations will be productive," – the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kaluga Region said.
Following the plenary part, representatives of 17 companies from Kaluga and more than 50 Belarusian businessmen discussed cooperation opportunities in such areas as the production of heat pumps, electrical products, industrial weighing equipment, plastic products, construction equipment and materials, furniture for home and office, as well as the supply and service of road and municipal equipment, construction, design of metal structures, cultivation of flowers and vegetables, tourism, and others.
During the visit to Belarus, the Kaluga region delegation will also visit the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park "Great Stone", a number of enterprises, the opening of the exhibition "Metalworking". Meetings will be held in the Government of Belarus and the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
