The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Regional Development Agency of Arkhangelsk Region and the Union Arkhangelsk Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a varied business program within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Russian region headed by Governor Alexander Tsybulsky to the Republic of Belarus.
Belarus – Arkhangelsk Region business forum was held at the President Hotel. The heads of more than 30 Russian companies and 120 representatives of Belarusian business took part in it.
The plenary part of the forum was opened by Sergey Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI, Alexander Pshenny, Chairman of Bellesbumprom Concern, and Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of Arkhangelsk region.
In their speeches, they noted the implementation of points in the plan of joint activities for the development of cooperation, which served as an impetus for the active increase in trade turnover and the development of business contacts.
The business forum program included getting acquainted with the investment and tourism potential of Belarus and Arkhangelsk region. The logistics capabilities of Sea Commercial Port of Arkhangelsk, which is of interest to Belarusian business as an exit through the Northern Sea Route to distant regions of Russia, were also presented.
At the end of the plenary part, bilateral negotiations were carried out. The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in such areas as the pulp and paper industry, woodworking, food industry, tobacco production, agriculture, logistics, energy saving, production of building materials and metallurgical products, production of automotive equipment, procurement and processing of wild berries and mushrooms, automotive industry, machine tool building and metalworking.
During the visit to Belarus, the members of the delegation of Arkhangelsk region visited AMKODOR OJSC, MAZ OJSC, MAZ-MAN CJSC, BELAZ OJSC, Paper Mill Unitary Enterprise of Gosznak, Borisovdrev OJSC, Borisov DOK OJSC, Dorors OJSC, Institute of Fruit Growing RUE, Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Potato, Fruit and Vegetable Growing Republican Unitary Enterprise, Ministry of Emergency Situations and other enterprises and organizations. Meetings with the management and experts of these organizations were held. Russian guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with production processes and assess the quality of products.
As Sergey Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI, noted in the interview with journalists, the visit of the delegation of Arkhangelsk region to Belarus, as well as business events through the chambers of commerce and industry, opened new horizons, opportunities for cooperation and made it possible not only to ensure negotiations between delegations, but also to lay the foundation for further work on localization of production, implementation of promising projects, industrial cooperation and others.
