The 3rd International Symposium of Confectioners FOOD PROM CONFECTIONERY 2024 is taking place in Minsk on May 23-24. The forum has brought together around 300 senior executives of leading confectionery enterprises in Belarus, representatives of business circles and key confectionery factories of the EAEU countries, members of the scientific community, raw material and equipment suppliers, marketers and trading organizations employees.

One of the sessions at the symposium, "Export of Confectionery Products. Effective Sales Channels," was moderated by Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his opening remarks for the session, he emphasized the significance and relevance of its theme, noting that exporting confectionery products is not just an economic operation but an opportunity to bring joy and goodness to consumers in different parts of the world. "Today, the confectionery industry is one of the most rapidly developing and modernized foods sectors. Furthermore, a third of the confectionery products produced in Belarus are exported to more than 50 countries: from our neighbors to New Zealand and Africa," Denis Meleshkin stated. "Belarusian enterprises do not rest on their laurels but continue to make plans for qualitative and quantitative increases in exports. I hope that the presentations by speakers – representatives of export support institutions, the real sector of the economy, and experts in economic activities – will be truly beneficial for all participants."

The session agenda covered a wide range of topics, from promoting exports to different regions of the world to the specifics of trends in confectionery packaging.

Presenting legal aspects of export activities with practical examples from the confectionery industry was Vitaly Vabishevich, Head of the Directorate-General for Legal Support and Digital Technologies of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who spoke during the session on the topic "Legal Support for Foreign Economic Contracts".
