Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Denis Meleshkin took part in the research seminar "Export promotion of the Republic of Belarus amid the sanction policy of the West", which was organized by the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus for MA students in Public Administration and Economics.
The agenda of the seminar included reports on the status and prospects of trade cooperation between Belarus and China under sanctions, prospects of redirecting export flows of Belarusian food products to non-CIS countries, transformation of foreign economic activity in the conditions of transition to digital economy and many other things.
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry executive made a report "proBusiness under sanctions": the tools of the BelCCI", in which he told about the activities of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, its new mechanisms and forms of support of the Belarusian business under sanctions restrictions, shared the results of development of a new service – "sanctions compliance", and explained the BelCCI vision on the support of industrial cooperation of the EAEU countries.
In particular, Denis Meleshkin noted that the business community in Belarus due to the sanctions pressure found itself in a new reality, dictating its own rules. This is a disruption of logistics and cooperation chains, complicated customs procedures or a complete ban on export (import) of products, the impossibility of payments for foreign trade transactions, the closure of the developed markets. "In order to minimize the negative impact of restrictive measures and to provide practical assistance to enterprises, in April 2022 we proactively created a specialized information platform "proBusiness under sanctions". This is a resource that provides access to comprehensive consulting, information, and legal support in various areas. The platform includes 16 sections dedicated to the search for new sales markets and commercial offers, potential business partners, fulfillment of obligations under the already concluded foreign economic contracts, and legal protection mechanisms – general state measures to support business, and evidence of force majeure circumstances. The information platform proBusiness in sanctions will allow domestic enterprises to take maximum advantage of various non-financial export support tools provided by the BelCCI, find additional opportunities to diversify and promote their products in new markets," the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI said.
