Istanbul hosted a meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council, a body established by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) to promote bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation, maintain a direct dialog between representatives of Belarusian and Turkish enterprises, and discuss and resolve emerging issues of mutual trade.
The meeting was opened with welcoming speeches by the Co-Chairs of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council: Pavel Marinenko (Head of the FEZ Mogilev Administration, on the Belarusian side) and Yilmaz Soyсan (Chairman of the Board of Soycan Group, on the Turkish side), as well as Aleksei Shved, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul.
Irina Ivanova, Deputy General Director of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI, made a presentation of the economic potential of the Republic of Belarus. Export and investment opportunities of the Republic of Turkiye were presented by the DEIK representative.
The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of bilateral trade and economic interaction, promising areas for expanding the partnership of business circles.
At the end of the plenary part, representatives of Belarusian and Turkish enterprises and organizations held B2B negotiations on the development of cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the fields of logistics, scientific research, mechanical engineering, light industry, exchange trade, gas fuel production, and others.
In addition, a meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council was held, which was attended by representatives of the DEIK management and business. The meeting focused on the issues of Belarusian-Turkish cooperation, including those related to banking operations, air communication between the countries, establishment of a sectoral working group to identify existing problematic issues, search for opportunities to resolve them and increase the level of interaction in the automotive sector, as well as in the media.
